Job Description:
The Legal Practice Assistant will provide critical support to a team of three attorneys, assisting with litigation, trial preparation, document management, and administrative tasks. This role requires a collaborative, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and format legal documents (pleadings, memoranda) ensuring court compliance.
- Manage court filings (including e-filing) and handle service of pleadings and subpoenas.
- Organize case files, trial binders, and other materials for trial prep.
- Coordinate schedules, meetings, travel arrangements, and attorney calendars.
- Handle billing and expense reports, and assist in monthly billing reviews.
- Proofread and quality-check documents to ensure accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a Legal Practice Assistant or equivalent role.
- Expertise in civil litigation, law and motion, and soup-to-nuts trial preparation.
- Proficiency with iManage, CCC Macros, and e-filing systems.
- Strong proofreading, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to shifting priorities.
